PBC Supervisor of Elections Implements PitneyBowes Relia-Vote™ Mail Balloting System for Absentee Ballots

West Palm Beach, Fla. - September 21, 2007 - The Palm Beach County Supervisor of Elections Office recently purchased the PitneyBowes Relia-Vote Mail Balloting System. This system is designed to improve the integrity, accuracy and efficiency of mail ballot processing.

By adopting the Relia-Vote Mail Balloting System, postal costs will be minimalized, and the ballot inserting and addressing processes will now be automated ensuring mail ballot accuracy and integrity. Additionally, the system provides a piece-level audit trail and “proof of mailing”, streamlines and accelerates the signature verification process, automates ballot opening precinct sortation and provides an imaged archive of the envelope face.

PitneyBowes understands that the absentee mail process is a complex and highly sensitive application,” said Dr. Arthur Anderson, Supervisor of Elections. “We will be able to draw on their extensive expertise in creating scaleable, high integrity, fully automated mailing solutions,” he added. “We are confident this will be a worthwhile investment for our county.”

The Relia-Vote Mail Ballot System transfers manual data implementation to an automated process, sorting by precincts and tracking absentee ballots. It will be used for the 2008 Election cycle.

PitneyBowes has been the recognized industry leader in mail and document messaging technology for more than 80 years. They have designed several mail ballot solutions specifically for public elections. For more information on PitneyBowes please visit www.pbdmt.com
